Orvis were founded in 1856 as a small bamboo fly rod shop in Manchester, Vermont, Orvis is now one of the world’s biggest brand names in fly fishing and boasts a well-established reputation of quality and performance. Orvis's industry leading fly rods and other products were re-introduced to Australia by the team at The Flyfisher. By replacing industry standard epoxy resins with thermoplastic, thermoset resins, and fibreglass scrims with carbon-fibre scrims, the Orvis designers were able to make significant, simultaneous leaps in weight reduction as well as durability in their current range of fly rods.
